Striker Connor Wickham will be out for four to six weeks with a knee injury it has been confirmed.
The 18 year-old striker visited a specialist yesterday following a scan earlier in the week and the damage has been confirmed.
It is welcome news for Steve Bruce who has been without Frazier Campbell for a while now and feared he would lose the teenage forward for a long spell.
Wickham’s injury leaves Ji Dong-Won and Nicklas Bendtner as the club’s only recognized forwards. Stephane Sessegnon could fill in up top however.
