It’s being reported this evening that Sunderland are now close to the capture of West Bromwich Albion winger Callum McManaman.

Sky Sports have reported within the last half hour that both clubs have been in talks today and their sources are telling them that those talks are at an advanced stage when it comes to a permanent switch.

McManaman is said to have travel to Sunderland to undergo his medical with the final touches just needed on the deal and his personal terms ahead of tonight’s deadline closure.

Having begun his career at Wigan Athletic, he made the switch to West Brom for a reported £4.75million back in January 2015, but he’s only made seven starts for them with a further 18 substitute showings owing to a fall out with head coach Tony Pulis.

Pulis has in fact been open to moving him on for the last few windows and whilst it’s looking like he’ll get his wish, Simon Grayson will be hoping he can reignite his career with it stalling over the past few seasons.
