Watch Out Blackburn Rovers

The league shows Sunderland sitting comfortable in the Premier league with eight points after seven games. Now some may argue that is hardly a great return of points but we have had one of the toughest opening fixture schedule I can remember.

We have only won the one game this season against Manchester City and we are currently on an unbeaten run of five league games.

The past two performances have really seen Sunderland turn a corner in effort and team spirit and I firmly believe this could be the start of a great season.

We completely outclassed Liverpool at Anfield, only for a referee to stop us from claiming a famous victory. We kept this great display going against Manchester United a week later and found ourselves disappointed with only getting a point against them!

The international break could not come at a better time as we re-group and head for Ewood park in two weeks time. The squad is getting used to each other and partnerships are being created all around the pitch. The defence seems to be as strong as we have ever seen and we have two brilliant keepers fighting amongst themselves over the number 1 shirt.

By the time the break is over we will have only two main players injured. Angeleri who is still taking his time to get over his injury and adapt to the English lifestyle. We also have David Meyler who has recently returned to light training.

This is the first time in a long time we have nearly a full team to select from and challenge for a top 10 slot in the league.

We have to ensure our attitude and desire remains the same against the more closer teams such as Blackburn. Failure to beat the lower placed teams would mean all the hard work against the elite was wasted.

The future is bright, it’s red and white!

Its crunch time now we have the chance to banish the constant inconsistancy and show a solid form running through the season the lads surely can’t waste all the hard work now…can they?

You assume you will have a fully fit squad.. but your players could easily pick up a knock on international Duty! Our home for is one of the best in the league over the last year.. It will be a harder game than you think!

Nothing is easy Rover23, but we won last time with a much weaker team and squad than what we have now so we have room to be optimistic.

Aye we are optimistic but not deluded they don’t call us geordies I can easly see another draw tbh maybe even a defeat if we fall back into the inconsistant form that we are all too used to. But if we play like we have of recent I can easly see a sub par Blackburn dominated with Gyan, Bent, Elmo and co all over their half like a cheap suit. But like we mention no two games are the same.

Better teams than Sunderland have been brought down to earth with a hard bump at Ewood park, lads. arsenal, for example, just last season…don’t raise expectations so high you can’t see the bar anymore, eh? A point would be good for most teams there. Including ours, in case you’re wondering.
