After a week of voting on Vital Sunderland the fans have spoken as to who we want to replace Cattermole as the club captain this season.
Cattermole, who misses the next two games through suspension, may be stripped of the captains armband and we asked the members who should replace him as captain.
A massive 45% of the votes went to John Mensah to lead the line, starting at home against Arsenal this Saturday.
Mensah, who is captain for Ghana, would be a perfect replacement as he oozes quality and experience in defence.
As long as Mensah can stay fit we would have a steady head leading the club and can move the club forward up the Premier league this season.
