Twelve Sunderland players have been called-up for international duty this week.

Seb Larsson has been selected as part of Erik Hamren’s Sweden squad as they take on Argentina in Stockholm.

The winger will come up against the likes of Lionel Messi, Ezequiel Lavezzi and co. as the Swedes host Argentina on Wednesday.

Giovanni Trapattoni has called up Sunderland’s three Republic of Ireland players, with John O’Shea, James McClean and Keiren Westwood all hoping to face Poland.

Ireland host the Poles at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Wednesday.

Scottish pair Phil Bardsley and Steven Fletcher have been called up as part of Gordon Strachan’s first national squad to take on Estonia.

Strachan kicks-off his reign as Scotland boss with a friendly against Estonia and Aberdeen’s Pittodire.

Also in Home Nations action is midfielder David Vaughan.

The Welsh playmaker is once again part of Chris Coleman’s squad for their friendly against Austria at the Liberty Stadium.

Simon Mignolet is part of Belgium’s squad for their friendly with the Netherlands on Saturday 9 of February in Wagergem.

Ahmed Elmohamady is in line to face Chile in an away match for Egypt, whilst Stephane Sessegnon has been selected for Benin.

At youth level, Connor Wickham is part of Stuart Pearce’s England U21 squad as they take on Sweden at Walsall’s Banks’ Stadium.

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s U19’s are in action against Denmark on Tuesday in Doncaster.
