Gus Poyet is looking to his players to make the next game against Burnley to be the one that they finally turn their season around with.

‘There are moments in the season where you have turning points, and the Burnley game is one of them.’ – Gus Poyet

Saturday’s draw in the FA Cup at home to Championship side Fulham was not the result that Poyet or many fans had hoped for and just goes to show what a difficult time the team are having at the moment.

But Poyet is willing to keep the replay with Fulham at the back of his mind for the time being and focus on the next league game against Burnley.

The two clubs sit in 16th and 17th place, only separated by goal difference and Poyet desperately wants to see his new formation that includes two up front work.

The boss told Sky Sports: ‘There are moments in the season where you have turning points, and the Burnley game is one of them, so it’s an important week for us.

‘The idea now is to first analyse the two games, Tottenham and this one, check really well if it’s the way we want to go forward, train with it, play first and foremost Burnley and win. We need to win.’
