Sunderland were beaten by Spurs in the first minute of the match when their dodgy defending resulted with a Aaron Lennon goal.

Robbie Keane then finished them off with his 100 Spurs goal to seal it in stoppage time.

Roy Keane made only one change from the side that beat Portsmouth last weekend. Sunderland`s McShane replaced Richardson after he picked up a hamstring injury during training on Friday.

Sunderland started the game badly with Nuggsy losing the ball to the right. McShane managed to win the ball back but could only clear as far as O`Hara who crossed for Lennon steaming in on the far post to net an early goal for Tottenham.

Sunderland were then under what seemed like constant bombardment with Defoe and Berbatov bringing the best out of Craig Gordon.

Roy Keane reacted by changing the formation to 4-4-2 and swapping Stokes for Chopra.

Sunderland came back out after the break with more about them.

Murphy managed to get though on goal but curled his shot just wide of top right corner. If only he had seen Chopra busting gut to get in the box.

Sunderland did manage to get the ball in the back of the net but Jones effort was ruled out. He was well off side but did well to get the shot away.

Sunderland have chance after chance to equalise as McShane, Collins and Whitehead
all go close.

With Sunderland pushing forward for the equaliser Spurs get a break away goal through Keane. Cerny`s goal kick finds Keane who`s shot somehow squirms under Gordon.

Vital Sunderland Says
Spurs deserved their half time lead, as they were a different class the first half. However we were the better side in the second half and should have at least came away with a draw.

It a big blow to lose Richardson to a hamstring injury I hope he not out for too long.
