The Swede will be making his first appearance in the League Cup after making three Premier League appearances that have shown that the player has all the ability that the Black Cats are looking for.
You wont get very good odds if you are betting on Manchester City winning this one, but Toivonen says that there is always hope of an upset.
He told the Chronicle Live website: “The positive side for a football player is you always have a new challenge just around the corner. It is a big game in the cup, playing a very good side in Manchester City.
“We need to work hard, work together, work as a team.
“We have to put in a good performance and then see whether that is enough.”
The youth at the club are the future. Why not give them experience playing against quality player’s in this competition, the youngster’s will desperate to play, and will give more than the existing squad with regards effort and desire to win, you can’t protect them forever.
