Just as most of us had given up on the idea of Fabio Borini coming to Sunderland on a permanent deal, the press are trying to convince us that a move is back on.

Its our old friends at the Daily Mail that reckon the deal is not dead and more talks have been held with the striker since he picked up a shoulder injury while in America with Liverpool.

Not so long ago a £14 million bid was accepted by the Reds and Sunderland looked like getting the man who had impressed so much during his loan spell at the Stadium of Light.

But the deal looked dead after Borini went out with the rest of the Liverpool squad for pre-season training, not to mention the player mentioning that he was happy at Anfield.

So now we will just have to sit back and wait to find out if there is any truth in the paper’s report, bu if a move is to happen then it must happen soon as manager Gus Poyet has set a deadline for bringing in players.
