Sunderland winger Carlos Edwards has signed for Wolves in a three month loan move.

Since regaining full fitness Edwards has seen his chances of first team football blocked by Steed Malbranque.

Edwards will look to get a run of games in a bid to recapture the form he had when he first joined the Blackcats in 2006.

ExSunderland and current Wolves manager Mick McCarthy told the clubs official site “I’m delighted we’ve managed to bring Carlos in, we’ve lost one winger long-term and another short-term, but have got a very good replacement.”

“Carlos is a quality player who can operate on either wing and is someone we know a lot about.”

“He was very impressive for Sunderland in the Championship and has also played a fair few games in the Premier League, so arrives here with a good pedigree.”

Vital Sunderland Says

Edwards has failed in his bid to step up to the Premier league level, he has in his defence had shocking luck with injuries.

We wish him luck and hope to see him come back as the Carlos of old terrorising the opposition defences.
