Roy Keane is looking forward to Carlos Edwards return even if it is taking longer than expected.

Edwards has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the Birmingham game back in August. The Sunderland gaffer reckons Carlos will be out for a further 3 weeks.

Keane told safc.com “Were still looking at another three weeks or so. Were doing everything we can it`s just one of those hamstring ones where it can be quite complicated”

“Carlos has seen a specialist. The positive news is that he can keep doing the recovery work that he`s being doing, we just have to be a little more patient”

“Maybe the last time he came back too quickly”

It nice to see Keano is not rushing Edwards back we can`t afford him to suffer another set back. Our right wing hasn`t being the same without him saying that why haven`t we got another recognised right winger on the books. Don`t get me wrong Leadbitter has done well at deputising but he hasn`t got the pace or the skill to be a winger.

The worry is, will he be the same player? So often we see great players get injured, come back and be a shadow of their former selves. I hope and prey this isn’t the case with Carlos. If he comes back as good as he was then we can expect to see him getting down the line and landing some balls on big Kenwyne’s head to score. We play so much better with some natural width!
