Portsmouth are this weekends visitors at the Stadium of Light. Harry Redknapp`s men are depleted due to the Africans nations cup and Sunderland might just pull off a shock result.

Sunderland Team News:

We are without Dickson Etuhu, Carlos Edwards and Danny Higginbotham.

Dwight Yorke is back after his suspension.

Kenwyne Jones is touch and go and will face a late fitness test.

Player to watch: Kieran Richardson

He`s our main man at the minute and could be the difference between winning and losing.

Portsmouth Team News:

Glen Johnson and Sean Davis may face late fitness checks.

Sulley Muntari, Kanu, John Utaka and Papa Bouba Diop are all out as they are playing in Africa.

Player to watch: Sol Campbell

If we are going to get something out of the game we need to get past the veteran defender.

I’m hoping we will get that new old manager bounce, I am surprised you didn’t put Benji as the pompey player to watch, we carry a goal threat to, well, at least when we are away. I am looking forward to this game it’s always a good beer and a good laugh with the Macams… shame about the toon eh

im pleased you chose sol cmpbell as our player to watch – as you do have to get round him to beat us, something not many can do. the problem however, is that once round him, you need to get round distin, johnson and jamo – and they are all pretty tough. my man to watch is Glen Johnson though – he has been our best player over the past few games, and assuming he is fit, he will be tough to keep down – AND get past. or you could have picked david nugent…but you probably know more about him than we do!

This should be a crackin game as. looking at the table both teams need the point to stay with the pack above them.. You guys need to start collecting some points soon and the best way to do it is at home.. We on the other hand will be bouyed by HArry staying.. Lets hope for a good game and a good atmosphere..and we can jointly take the ***** out of Newcastle conceding 6 and not having a manager..

Yes, take the**** out of the barcodes day. Minus the ANC 4 will see what we have in depth. A bit concerned if GJ isn’t fit, he gives us another attacking option. Expect 4 5 1 with Benji wide right & Nuge up front.
