On Sky

Last – Saloon Sunday will see Manchester United arrive to Wearside in the hope they can beat Sunderland to fight for the title. They will know their own destiny as Chelsea play before them and this could spur them on. However, Sunderland have been in good form and their home record is nothing to be sniffed at.

Sunderland are unbeaten at home this year and have only lost twice to Chelsea and Villa. Man Utd can not expect to show up on Sunday expecting an easy game, especially as we fight for 10th place.

Steve Bruce will know a lot about his old club and he would love to show Fergie how far he has come as a manger standing next to him.

This will be a great game in a packed Stadium in front of the Sky cameras and one I really hope we can do well in.

Vital Quotes: Steve Bruce

‘For weeks now, we have been trying to look upwards a little bit and say, ‘Where can we finish?’

‘You take Peter Reid’s two sevenths out of the equation and it’s the highest the club has finished for 50 years, so it’s quite an unbelievable situation to be in.

‘We want to finish the season as best we can. If you can finish two or three places higher, it pays the salary of a player for another year.

‘In that respect, we will try our utmost. It’s important.’

Sunderland Team News:

Lee Cattermole and John Mensah are looking to return back to the starting eleven and Phil Bardsley will replace the suspended Hutton at right back.

Player to watch: Darren Bent

It seems I put Bent in this column every game, it’s a shame it is not for Vital Englands preview column!

He has scored 24 in the league, scored at Old Trafford, won player of the season and he will be watched by Cappello’s men on Sunday.

Come on Darren get the ball in the net again and ruin their title hopes and improve your World Cup chances.

Man Utd Team News:

The big news will be all about England superstar Wayne Rooney being fit for this game. Both him and Ferdinand returned to training but may not be fully fit for this massive fixture.

Gary Neville is also a doubt with a calf injury.

Player to watch: Nani

Nani has been great over the past few months and the reason they are so close behind Chelsea. We need to limit their set pieces and his movement on the wing for any chance of a result on Sunday.
