Sunderland to spend, spend, spend

Sunderland Chairman Niall Quinn has confirmed what every Sunderland fan wanted to hear there is more money to spend. Sunderland have already spent over 30 million last summer and it looks like the club is looking to spend even more in the January transfer window.

Quinn told the Sunderland Echo ‘The Drumaville people have put in a sizeable amount of money, in excess of what they paid for the club. And there’s more to come.

‘The guys have been first class from the moment they came in. It is on a request basis and they’ve said yes every single time. That’s fantastic.”

‘You can’t ask for more than that. Roy has been very appreciative and I have too. We’ve a situation where the guys like what’s happening and they like that common sense is attached, because we’ve tried to be as sensible as we can.’

“We give good bonuses. We try to structure our pay on incentive-based bonuses. If our guys are pushing up the Premier League, they get paid well. If they’re floundering, they don’t get paid so well.”

‘We have a safety net and the players see that. We’re making the right steps.’

It looks like the club are ready to splash out even more money to ensure we are playing Premiership football next season. It great to see that kind of financial commitment you would never have seen Mr Murray and Co investing the kind of money Quinny and his backers have.
