Striker Fabio Borini says that Sunderland will be going to Old Trafford looking for nothing less than a win on Wednesday.

The Black Cats head into the second leg of the semi final a goal up after beating David Moyes’ side 2-1 at the Stadium of Light in the first leg, thanks to Borini’s penalty.

It’s true that a draw would be enough to book Sunderland’s place at Wembley to take on Manchester City in the final, but Borini says that the side don’t want to rely on the single goal advantage and go for it.

And with United losing four of their last five games, there will be no better chance for Sunderland to dump the current Premiership champions out of the cup.

Borini said to reporters: “We are not going there to lose; we are going there to win. If you try to get a draw, then the first thing which comes to your mind is to lose and that will happen.

“It is Man United. If you sit back, sooner or later they will score.

“They have great players.”
