Sunderland have suffered a injury blow with veteran midfielder Dwight Yorke likely to be sidelined for around a month after fracturing his cheekbone in friendly against Victoria.

Yorke who has just signed a 1 year contract extension is likely to miss Sunderland`s opening game against Liverpool.

Sunderland manager Roy Keane told safc.com “We thought it was just a bang on the head but there could be a fracture there, around his eye, he`ll be out for a number of weeks.”
