Sunderland Midfielder Graham Kavanagh has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a month’s loan so he can build on his fitness levels. Kav who joined Sunderland last summer was out most of last season due to injuries and has dropped down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light.

Roy Keane told safc.com “Kav remains part of my plans but this gives him a chance to play games at a good level, I didn`t want to just thrown him into the premier league.”

“Kav has been good in our reserve games and this will do him the world of good”

It a shame to see a player of Kavanagh`s obvious quality leave the SOL but it is a good opportunity for him to get some competitive games under is belt. Hopefully he will be back in a red and white shirt soon.
