Sunderland midfielder Liam Miller will miss this weekends vital match against Wigan.

The midfielder will be out for around three weeks with a calf injury he sustained during Republic of Ireland`s match against Brazil.

Miller told sport.setanta.com “It is a calf injury. The physio inside said that hopefully it wasn`t too bad, but I am looking at three weeks out, something like that. I will see the Sunderland physio in the morning, and he will assess it,”

“I thought the match went OK. Obviously I would liked to have played the second half, but that is sometimes what happens.”

‘Obviously I am very unhappy with the injury. I thought it was going OK for me, and I was hoping the longer the game went on, the better I would get.”

Vital Sunderland Says

Oh no ???. Our best central midfielder out for the game against Wigan. I`m gutted in my opinion Miller has shown in his recent performances what we have been missing in midfield when he was been overlooked.

He hardly ever wastes possession, gets stuck in and covers ever blade of grass will be a big miss this weekend.
