Sunderland’s John O’Shea and Darron Gibson have been called up by Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill for their coming international fixtures.

The Republic face three fixtures over the month of June, two friendlies against Mexico (June 1) and Uruguay (June 4) and then a World Cup Qualifier against Austria (June 11).

A number of players miss out with injury such as Seamus Coleman, Ciaran Clark and David Meyler but there is a first call up for Kevin Long.

A selection of the 37 man group will have a three day training camp in Fota Island Resort on Tuesday May 23 – closed to fans and media – and then the trimmed down full squad will link up in Dublin on May 28.
