The draw for the Capital One Cup third round took place this evening with Sunderland landing a tie against League One outfit, MK Dons.

Martin O’Neill’s side beat Morecambe at home in the second round and their reward will now be a trip to Stadium:MK.

The Dons, managed by former Liverpool coach Karl Robinson, saw off League Two Cheltenham Town and recently-relegated Blackburn Rovers in the first two rounds of the competition.

The match will be played during the week of September 24 with a date to be confirmed in the near future.
