Sunderland appoint new board member

Sunderland this morning announced the appointment of Gary Hutchinson as the club’s new commercial director.

Gary has worked at the club successfully in roles overseeing the venues, events, and sales sectors at the Stadium of Light.

He will now step up to become a director on the club’s board.

The 31 year-old’s new role will mean he continues to oversee the club’s sales and events divisions, as well as spearheading business partnerships and strategies with key regional stakeholders.

Chief executive Margaret Byrne spoke to The Official Site about Gary’s appointment:

‘We are delighted to welcome Gary to the Board of Directors. He is a hugely committed member of our team and his enthusiasm and drive are tremendous assets for our football.’
