Striking headache for Bruce

As Sunderland travel to the capital to take on Arsenal today, Steve Bruce has a selection headache up front with Nicklas Bendnter ineligible.

Premier League rules prevent a player on-loan to another top-flight club from playing against his parent club.

This leaves Bruce with a decision between either Connor Wickham or Ji Don Won. Whoever is picked will lead the line on their own with Stephane Sessegnon surely the man to play off them – but who will lead the line?

England U21 international Wickham has the physical presence required to lead the line at 6’4 but Ji is the man on form.

Having scored his first Black Cats goal in the defeat by Chelsea and at 6’1, the South Korean isn’t the smallest player around either.

Neither player has started a Premier League game this season, clocking up 11 substitute appearances between them.

Based though on his combined international form and the cameo’s we’ve seen, I think the South Korean just edges it.
