The January Transfer Window rumours concerning the Black Cats appear to have died down in the last week but that’s not to say the rumours aren’t around.

Starting with some actual facts, Martin O’Neill has re-buffed ‘several’ loan offers for striker Ji Dong-Won.

The young South Korean forward has started just one match since moving to Wearside in the summer, with a further 15 appearances coming off the bench.

However, O’Neill has told The Sunderland Echo that he has turned down bids from foreign clubs and that the striker will not be going anywhere.

One man who could be on his way out of the club is Scottish goalkeeper, Craig Gordon.

The Journal Live reckon that the injury-prone stopper will be allowed to move on one way or another with his contract up at the end of the season.

Gordon recently returned from his latest lay-off and could be back in contention in the near future. However, O’Neill has addressed the depth of the goalkeeping department and admits that some ‘might go out on loan’.

With Simon Mignolet and Keiren Westwood having shared the No.1 jersey for the best part of two seasons now, it looks likely that former Hearts stopper Gordon would be the one to make way.

Another man who definitely won’t be heading out on loan is midfielder, Craig Gardner.

The former Birmingham City and Aston Villa man is wanted on loan back at St. Andrew’s just six months after leaving but O’Neill has quashed the rumours.

Finally, on the ‘ins’ front, O’Neill has said he has spoken to owner Ellis Short, but he is not panicking about buying anyone despite a lack of depth in the squad.

The Ulsterman appears to be happy to battle on until the summer with the current crop before making any moves in the Transfer Market.

That news doesn’t however stop The Metro from linking Sunderland with PSG’s Turkish international striker, Melvut Erding.

Finally, finally, O’Neill has also denied the stories suggesting that the Mags beat Sunderland to striker Papiss Cisse. O’Neill has strenuously denied this however.

That’s all for now folks, we’ll be back with more rumours as and when!
