Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Stephen Fletcher appears keen to force a move to Sunderland, announcing on Twitter this afternoon that he has handed in a transfer request.
The news comes after Wolves’ CEO Jez Moxey confirmed that an improved offer of £12m from Sunderland had been rejected.
Using social networking site Twitter, Fletcher confirmed the news:
@stevenfletch10 Just handed in a transfer request just to let the fans know where I am at right now…. #headsgone
Wolves are believed to be holding out for £15m for the Scot, but the former Burnley and Hibernian forward’s ambition to leave could be a driving factor in the saga.
I would say you might be looking at 12 million rising to 15. He has three years on his contract but the request could bring the price down a bit.
