SAFC Stars Bow Out

Sunderland defender, Paolo Da Silva and new signing Cristian Riveros will be on their way home from the FIFA World Cup tonight as Paraguay lost to Spain 1-0 in Johannesburg.

Paraguay battled well against the European Champions and missed a penalty to lead 1-0 in the 2nd half. David Villa scored with minutes to go to seal a place in the Semi Finals.

Both Da Silva & Riveros have had excellent tournaments with Riveros especially winning rave reviews for his solid performances in midfield.

The two players will both now take extended rest and join pre-season training at Whitburn later than the rest of the squad.
