Steven Fletcher looks set to become a Sunderland player & end the long-running saga over his future after the Black Cats agreed a fee with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Scottish international has been Martin O’Neill’s top priority this summer, and after a chase which has spanned the duration of the off-season, it looks like the former Burnley and Hibernian forward will move to Wearside.
A number of sources including Sky Sports News are reporting that an agreement has been struck between the clubs with Sunderland believed to have upped their most recent offer of £12m.
It is being reported that the deal could be concluded within 24 hours, leaving Fletcher available for the Reading game this Saturday.
judas ********! I hope and prey that sunderland get relegated! then watch him jump ship again.
If we do, he will.
……and that sell-on clause. Great job, Jez!
You’ve definitely got a good price for him at £14m + sell-on. However, we’re so desperate for a striker that if he grabs double figures he’ll be worth it.
