Paraguayan midfielder Cristian Riveros is expected to turn his loan move with Turkish outfit Kayserispor into a permanent one this summer.

The out-of-favour Paraguay international has been on loan with the Turkish SuperLiga outfit this season and is expected to turn that deal into a permanent move for 500k this summer.

Riveros, 29, is believed to be ready to discuss a move in the near future with Sunderland chief executive Margaret Byrne flying out to meet officials of the Turkish outfit next week.

Speaking to The Northern Echo, Martin O’Neill confirmed the news:

‘There’s a meeting due to take place in the not-too-distant future between the player’s agent and our club.’ Said O’Neill.

‘We’ll see what happens.’He’s a player I know by reputation more than by seeing and it will be interesting to see what the views are that come out of those talks.’

Since joining on a free transfer in May 2010 from Cruz Azul, Riveros has made just five starts and seven substitute appearances for the Black Cats.
