After rumours over last night, this morning it was confirmed that one time manager Ricky Sbragia has left the club.

There are no indications into why he has left but it seems the Scot wishes to pursue a coaching role and has not been sacked by Sunderland.

Currently talks are on-going for a settlement package for the former chief scout who has held his position for over two years.

he 54-year-old returned to Wearside in favour of advising then boss Roy Keane after making a brief stint with Manchester United as reserve coach.

After taking the reins when Keane left, Sbragia was given the full time job after successful spell as caretaker manager.

But after narrowly surviving the relegation battle, he resigned as was appointed chief scout by Chairman Niall Quinn who promised him a “job for life” with it.

The Sunderland Echo have reported that he could be lined up for a coaching job with Carling Cup winners Birmingham.
