Poyet Just Glad To Be In Draw For Round Five

Gus Poyet spoke about the win against Kidderminster Harriers after the game on Saturday and admitted that the best thing about it was the fact that they were through to the next round.

The Black Cats were overwhelming favourites to knock out Harriers at the Stadium of Light but instead the side huffed and puffed against a determined Conference side and ended up progressing by just the one goal scored by Charis Mavrias after just five minutes.

Poyet had made a number of changes to his side with Oscar Ustari and Santiago Vergini making debuts and midfielder El-Hadji Ba handed a first start.

And by the time the final whistle went, Poyet was just glad to have reach round five.

‘It was probably expected, but then we needed to win,’ he said to the club’s official website.

‘If you asked me what is important for us now, it’s just to win games and to feel that we can be strong at home.

‘Of course a new group of players playing together for the first time – I think they were very brave in the first 20 minutes – very, very good.’

The draw for round five will take place on Sunday after the televised game between Chelsea and Stoke City.
