Sunderland were beaten by one goal by Harry Redknapp`s Portsmouth at Fratton Park. The game itself looked like a stalemate from the off with most of the play in the middle of the park.
However referee Phil Dowd awarded the game to Pompey in 70th minute when he gave a penalty for a Bardsley challenge on Kranjcar.
Defoe despatched the spot kick with style after Evans and Nosworthy had snuffed him out throughout the game.
Apart from that I can`t remember us having a shot on target.

Another game another controversial decision by the man in black. We should have come away with at least a point but how many more times are we going to saying that this season.
We never really tested James but I`m sure Keane and the backroom staff will sort out our lack of creativity before our crucial game against Derby next weekend.
