Martin O’Neill has officially confirmed two additions to the club’s coaching staff, with two headed in the opposite direction.

As expected, O’Neill has brought former Villa pair Steve Walford and Seamus McDonagh in as first-team coach and goalkeeping coach respectively.

Walford, 53, has followed O’Neill since the duo were together at Wycombe Wanderers, taking it periods of great success at Leicester and Celtic alongside the Ulsterman.

Former Sunderland loanee McDonagh, was also at Villa Park with the pair and was most recently with Hull City as goalkeeping coach.

Heading in the opposite direction are Eric Black and Nigel Spink, who have both left the club having been appointed by Steve Bruce.

Welcome Steve and Seamus and good luck to both Eric and Nigel.

Awful lot of bitterness from Blue noses (whoops, my bad!), now that MO’N is at SOL. I think we all accept the flaws that Villa fans come out with, but it smacks of bitterness that you can’t be gracious for the Premier League finishes he delivered. I’m sure you will enjoy Alex McLeish’s mediocrity.
