Midfielder David Meyler has today (Tuesday) joined Hull City on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.

The 23 year-old Republic of Ireland international joins the Tigers for a fee believed to be £1.5m on a three-and-a-half year contract.

Meyler had previously been on-loan at the KC Stadium, making seven N.Power Championship starts and a further three substitute appearances.

Formerly of Cork City, Meyler found first-team chances at the Stadium of Light hard to come-by thanks to a string of serious knee injuries.

However, during his four-and-a-half year stay on Wearside, Meyler made 17 league and cup starts for the Black Cats with a further 14 appearances coming from the substitutes bench.

Good luck, David!
