Norwich match reaction…

Keano:

‘It was a very, very scrappy win but I don’t care. It’s the happiest I’ve been after a game since I came to the club.

‘And the reason for that was the character that my players showed. The players were absolutely fantastic and I’m very proud of them.

‘We were missing one or two players. Stan Varga was suspended, we lost Nyron with an injury through the week, Dean Whitehead played despite a hamstring problem and Liam Miller was in Ireland on Friday at a funeral and he only came back in the evening.

‘Liam, in particular, was outstanding. He missed training on Friday and I gave him the chance to have the weekend off, but he said he wanted to come back and play. That says a lot about the lad.

‘I think we just about deserved to win. There were never going to be many goals – it was always going to be about who would get that first one. It was us, and it came from a top finish from Daryl Murphy.’

Norwich’s Peter Grant (who?):

‘I would have seen a draw as two points dropped. Roy will be delighted with the three points, but I don’t think they deserved it.

‘We gave a very disciplined performance. It’s a big blow for us because when we play like that we expect to get something from the game.

‘I think they were the better team at our place and we were the better team here.’
