Former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has been approached by Sunderland as the club start their search for another new manager.

An Exclusive report in the Telegraph says that Sunderland are interested in a few managers on their shortlist and Pearson is one of them.

Pearson was sacked by Leicester in the summer after falling out with the owners about the sacking of his son, who was a player at the club.

Before that, Pearson was in charge of a remarkable end of season comeback by the Foxes which saw them fight off what seemed to be certain relegation earlier in the season. During that run, Leicester won seven out of the nine games they had remaining.

Pearson is said to be keen to find a way back into football and maybe Sunderland would be his best chance of returning to managing in the top flight.

Sam Allardyce and Sean Dyche are also high on Sunderland’s list of possible replacements for Dick Advocaat, with another, Harry Redknapp ruling himself out of the job.
