A deal that was supposed to bring Steven Naismith from Norwich City to Sunderland looks to have broken down.

According to the Daily Record, talks between the two clubs are no longer ongoing and unless there is a major U-turn, Naismith will remain a Norwich player.

A deal looked set that would see Sunderland pay £4 million for the services of the 29-year-old but talks collapsed and it is unlikely that the two parties will return to negotiations before the 11pm deadline.

Moyes had been hoping to hook up once again with the player that he took to Goodison Park from Rangers in 2012.

Pity about this one because he would have been a hard working adition to the side. Could have added something
