According to the Chronicle Live website Allardyce is keen on a move for Collins who he see’s as the man to help out with Sunderland’s leaky defence after slipping back into the relegation places.

Collins is keen to get some first team football under his belt with Euro 2016 just around the corner and with his current contract running out in the summer.

Allardyce will be keen to find out about acquiring the Welshman sooner rather than later to give him time to look for an alternative target.
