Moaning Alan Pardew felt that the referee and linesman were to blame for Sunderland’s win over Newcastle on Sunday, well he would.

In the build up to Sunderland’s dramatic winner, the bitter one felt that the home side should not have been given a free kick, he claims that the assistant gave Newcastle a throw in, but in actual fact it was a free kick given to the Black Cats because the last time I looked at the rules of the game, the ref is in charge, not the man with a flag.

Before Fabio Borini’s fantastic winner, Sunderland had taken the lead after just five minutes from a well worked corner routine that was finished off by Steven Fletcher who headed home.

In the second half, Mathieu Debuchy grabbed his first goal for the Geordies to level things.

Then there were good chances for both Yohan Cabaye and substitute Shola Ameobi to win the game, but they were not up to the job and that, Mr Pardew is why your boys were still in a position to lose the game when Borini struck.

“It is a real tough one for us to take,” he said after the game. “The more the game went on the more control we got; we had two or three chances at 1-1 and if we get the goal the game is over because they would have been dead.’

Which is our point, your lads couldn’t score and we think we could safely say that they wouldn’t have scored another if they had still be playing now.

However, he droned on: “Unfortunately for us we didn`t get that second goal and unfortunately the referee`s played a part in that defeat as well because it`s definitely not a free-kick (in the build-up to Sunderland`s winner), in my opinion.

“The linesman`s given us a throw, but the ref`s given a foul, and one or two of them switch off.

“They (Pardew`s players) certainly didn`t think it was a foul, and they (Sunderland) just slip through us and the one chance they`ve had in the second half he (Borini) smashes it in.”

There were a few more chances than one, maybe he wasn’t paying attention which is pretty stupid thing to do for a manager, or maybe he has a selective memory?
