Mensah and Steed Back In Contention

John Mensah has been ruled out for the past few games due to a hamstring he picked up against Stoke at home earlier this month.

Mensah will give Bruce a defensive selection headache as Anton Ferdinand also returned to full training this week.

Bruce will now have all defenders fit and raring to go to see if they can overcome the latest run of 13 games without a league win.

Kilgallon, Mensah, Da Silva, Turner, Ferdinand, McCartney, Bardsley, and Hutton are all fighting for first team selection and they have a perfect opportunity to show their ability at The Emirates on Saturday,

Bruce is facing a midfield problem as Henderson and Reid both face 6 weeks out due to injuries but he will have Malbranque back to select from.

Steed complained of chest problems and was taken to Portsmouth hospital after the away draw. However, he is now back in contention as Sunderland look to do the famous double over Arsene Wengers elite squad.
