Sunderland manager Roy Keane was left cursing his luck after seeing his side fail to win at home for the second time in five days. Keane will be looking for his side to bounce back against Blackburn in the Premier League this weekend.

Keane told safc.com “It’s like Groundhog Day – the same scenario, same post-match interview, it’s getting frustrating.”

“There has not been much between the teams in our recent games, but we’re on the losing end so we have to sort that out.”

“I picked a strong team, we wanted to win tonight and we had the bonus of Kenwyne playing.”

“I was open-minded with Kenwyne. The surgeon was happy with him, there were no issues. He trained this morning, he looked lively and he wanted to get back, I thought it was a good opportunity for him tonight and he did well, he’s a good player.”

“We don’t score enough goals; we’re always putting ourselves under pressure. You know that if you don’t take your chances you will get punished. It happened on Saturday and it happened again tonight.”

“The only time our keeper seems to be working is when he picks the ball out of the back of the net.”

“So many little things at the moment are going against us. I really can’t fault my players; it’s the little details we are letting ourselves down on.”

“We have to keep persevering and keep trying to do the right things and I think we will turn the corner. We’ll end up turning it with one of our worse performances, I bet.”

“Yes, you get worried and disappointed, the players deserve more.”

“Perseverance is by far the most important word at this football club at this moment in time.”

Vital Sunderland Says

We aren`t getting the rub of the green at the moment but I`m sure we will soon. Hopefully we can get some revenge on Saturday against Blackburn.
