Sunderland Manager Roy Keane has spoke of his team`s rotten luck after seeing his side score the only goal of the game for the referee to rule it out.

Roy Keane told safc.com “Unfortunately, the talking point is the goal we had disallowed, it should have stood.”

We should be talking about a good game and good opportunities, but we’ll end up talking about a decision that went against us.

It was one of those days – Kieran’s free-kick hit the post, Djibril hits the cross-bar, sometimes it’s not your day.

There can be a worry that you might lose these type of games so I’m glad we kept a clean sheet and got a point, on another day we would have won the game.

I was fairly pleased with the performance and sometimes the result is taken out of your hands. It’s a point away from home and we have to accept it.

The game had a bit of everything, but in terms of chances created, we are the ones who will feel slightly unfortunate.

We started well, we looked a threat but we had to settle with 0-0. All our energy is concentrated on next week now.

In terms of the players’ attitude and the performance, I was fairly pleased.

They had some half-chances, we had some half-chances, but we all know the hardest part of football is putting the ball in the back of the net. You have to do it to win matches and neither side did today.

Vital Sunderland Says

The goal should have sealed all three point for us but at least we are defending well and creating enough chances to win games.

If you go to Stoke City tomorrow night expecting a hard luck story to cover up being toothless in attack then you’ll probably come away with nothing. The Potters they have to win home games like this one to survive. They are a big strong side and they’ll really come at you. Gordon had better bring a tin hat and flack jacket.
