Roy Keanes return to Old Trafford was spoiled by a Louis Saha goal 19 minutes from time.
Sunderland packed the midfield with the intension of gaining a draw. The plan almost came to fruition with Gordon in top form again it looked as if Man U would fail to find the net.
Man U then won a corner and all of Sunderland`s hard work was undone. Gordon failed to clear Nani`s corner only for Saha to head home.

Match Comment
The Red Devils thoroughly deserved their victory as they created chance after chance only for Gordon to be equal to everything. We defended well but I can`t remember Sunderland having a shot on target, which is worrying.

We were robbed !
tbh honest we didnt create than many chances KEV, saha’s aside, can u think of any bar the last 10 mins when sunderland went flat. i dunt say we deserved it, but we won sop i guess thats good 🙂
OK But you created a lot more chances than us, we only had two chances and both of them were off target. I think we were very resilient and had it not been for than corner and we might have come away with a point.
Trouble is people will not think a 1-0 defeat at Old TRafford as a good result but there will be loads of clubs leaving there during the season with a bigger defeat than that, Roy Keane will now know the season starts now after 3 defeats on the bounce. This is where he will start to earn his corn. Prawn Sarnie anyone?
I think we deserved a point Saha goal was lucky he didn’t seem to know anything about it
Unfortunate you couldn’t hold on for a draw think considering you were away from home you deserved it.
Yes I think we did deserve a draw. but even just getting beat 1 nil wasn’t bad I thought we were in for a right spanking
Oh well another beating just like the last time we were in the prem but at least we have 4 points already
only 1-0! United must have been poor!
