Sunderland have failed to score in their last three games and are currently on a run of one point from a possible 18.

Asamoah Gyan showed the World what he is capable of doing and we all hope he can repeat that stunning performance on Sunday.

Man City have hit a bit of poor form and we need to capitalise on this if we want to leave with anything.

Vital Quotes: Steve Bruce

“Asa was great for England and if City didn`t know all about him before, they will now,” said the Sunderland manager.

“It`s one thing knowing the danger and another thing altogether stopping it and if Gyan`s in the same form on Sunday he`ll be a constant threat to them.”

“They love playing for their country and I know how absolutely desperate they were to put one over on England,” he smiled.

“What I`m hoping though is that the high will continue for them and they`ll play just as well against City.

“That extra day`s rest with the game being played on a Sunday could be quite a key factor in terms of them recuperating and we`re hoping to see them at their best.”

“We`ve got Danny Welbeck back now and Fraizer Campbell available from the bench this Sunday.

“It`s a great boost for us but also no doubt for Asamoah as much as anyone.

“He carries out that lone striker role so well that maybe we`ve been putting too much pressure on his shoulders asking him to play it for so long.

“I`m sure he`ll be delighted to have Danny and Fraizer available to play alongside him and if he`s still buzzing from the Ghana game he could be right back to his best.”

Man City Team News:

Man City have defensive injury problems with both Richards and Boateng picking up knocks for their National teams.

Player to watch: Joe Hart

He is always capable of pulling off a stunning save and we will have to be on our best form in order to beat him at Eastlands.

Sunderland Team News:

Nedum Onuoha is not able to play as Man City are his parent club.

Fraizer Campbell will make his long awaited recovery and join the bench for Sunderland.

Player to watch: Welbeck

After a great goal for the England U21’s and then being called up to make his first senior appearance for England, Welbeck must be flying with confidence.

Let’s hope him and Asamoah can form a deadly partnership and beat Lescott and Hart again.
