Looking To Push On

James McClean is looking to put his past problems behind him and “push on” next season.

A well publicised “Twitter row” overshadowed things for the winger last season, with some ill-advised comments made. This saw his form on the pitch impacted by actions, or more fittingly, words off it!

Whilst admitting he’s not entirely sure what his Sunderland future will be McClean, as he told Sky Sports News, hopes to have a clean break under Paolo Di Canio and get back to his best: ‘It has been difficult for a lot of reasons, which have been well-publicised, but that is all in the past and I will go back soon for the new season and hopefully push on.

‘Each manager has a different style, so hopefully next season I can push on.

‘Whatever happens over the summer, happens. I am just keeping my head down and doing the best for me personally and whatever comes of that, comes of that.’

Best just let your actions on the pitch do the talking from now on James, if not your career at Sunderland (along with is international career with Ireland) is definitely put in jeopardy.
