Sunderland midfielder Grant Leadbitter has extended his stay at the Stadium of light after signing a three year extension his new deal will keep him at the club until 2011.

Leadbitter has risen through the ranks at Sunderland is happy to continue his education with club.

Leadbitter told the clubs official site “I’m pleased to sign. I’m happy at the club and I want to help drive it forward next season, I want to kick on.”

Sunderland manager Roy Keane also told the site “Grant’s done a good job since I came to the club.”

“He’s got quality and he’s enthusiastic – a good character. He’s maturing well.”

It`s pleasing to see Grant extend his stay at the club hopefully he can continue his development at the club and get better and better.
