Larsson On An Early Comeback Trail

A good three months ahead of schedule, Seb Larsson is back in full training and is set to return to the squad well ahead of what was first thought.

It was originally thought that after having knee surgery, the 31-year-old would be looking at January before being fit enough to fight for his place back in the side.

The return date will be a month away, but that is still a massive bonus for David Moyes who has been hoping for players to start returning back from injury.

Moyes will not make the mistake of rushing the midfielder back into action before he is 100 per cent though and that means the Swede could be in for a spell in the under 23 team.

Moyes told the Sunderland Echo: “Seb has dipped in and out a little bit but started full training on Monday.

“I think Seb will need the best part of three to four weeks on football sessions and what not and hopefully we might get him a couple of Under-23 games in the process.

“Hopefully it is quicker. But he has done really well.

“I don`t want to risk his injury too soon. “It is an incredible return.”
