Ki Sung-Yueng will be staying at Sunderland until the end of the season after all, despite claims that they may recall him to Swansea by Chairman Huw Jenkins.

Ki has been a major part of Sunderland getting back on form and there was a bit of doom and gloom over the club when it appeared that Swansea may recall the midfielder back.

But in the wake of Sunderland`s weekend win at Fulham, Gus Poyet spoke of his relief that the deadline for Swansea to recall Ki back had now past, but Jenkins didn’t agree, stating “He is our player and we can recall him up until January 31.”

In fact, the cut-off date before which Swansea were able to cut the loan short did indeed pass last week.
