Keeper Not Actively Seeking Exit

Simon Mignolet’s impressive Sunderland form is bound to see him catch the eye of many clubs, it’s only natural that it would.

Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the keeper, however it’s Liverpool in more recent times that have been linked with the 25-year-old.

Mignolet has made it clear that he’s not “actively seeking an exit” from the club, and Paolo Di Canio would love to keep the keeper as it was his form that played a major role in keeping Sunderland in the Premier League last season.

However, with the Sunderland boss looking to make “wholesale changes” to the squad this summer with the prospect of the Belgium international commanding a significant transfer fee this could make a huge difference to the players the Italian could bring in?

That said a keeper of Mignolet’s quality would be very tough to replace, so it’s a fine balancing act and what happens with him will be important to Sunderland, not looking to leave is a bonus though and removes the pressure to actually need to sell!
