Only minutes after completing an article that mentioned several players Keane may be signing, Sunderland go and announce they’ve signed a player I didn’t even mention. Not even accidently.

Spurs goalkeeper Marton Fulop has joined the club on loan till January. Allegations that his middle name is ‘Phillipe’ are being investigated.

At 23, Fulop is a full Hungarian international, and spent most of last season on loan at Coventry, making 33 appearances in a place that probably reminded him of his home in Eastern Europe.

He is 6ft 5ins and is a Capricorn. His favourite colour is blue.

Keane said of his new man,

‘I’m delighted the deal is done. Marton is someone we’ve been looking at for a while; he’s young, hungry, and just the type of person we’re looking for at this football club.’

With Alnwick injured for another ten days it may just be that Fulop has been brought in as cover to the solid Darren Ward.

However with an enthusiastic Keane clearly happy with the deal, it may be that a permanent move is in the pipeline. Ben Alnwick might be wondering if he’ll be next out of Keane’s trapdoor.
