Sunderland have now confirmed that Roy Keane is no longer manager of the club. Keanes position had looked uncertain due to poor recent form and his hesitation to sign a new contract, which expired at end of current season.

Hope Keane never gets another job in football, he should have been kicked out as self admitted violent criminal after crippling Alfie Halland. Please take Steve Staunton from Leeds, and God help you if you get David O’Deary!!

    Uh oh. Sam Allardyce, anyone?

I must say, I’m shocked but not surprised. I’d be very angry if I were a Sunderland fan. He’s gone and wasted an awful lot of money and jumped ship when things haven’t gone his way. Some of his purchases have been a success but on the whole he has wasted a lot of money. So long as Niall gets the replacement right you should have absolutely no problems staying in the division and I, for one, think you could do a lot worse than Sam Allardyce. Granted there are the Newcastle connections but he was barely there long enough to count as a managerial spell! Maybe that would help spur him on that he was so quickly rejected by your fiercest rivals. Anyway, good luck finding a replacement and see this as a good thing, not bad!

Surprised, never had Keane down as a quitter. Wonder if that is the last we’ll see of him as a manager then!? Agree with Sunshine Whites, god help you if you get DOL

This really is a mess. I hated Keane as a Red — I’m a City fan. But I really thought he was going to make it with you guys. He gave you a lot of pride back I think and I’m sorry he’s moved on. He’ll turn up somewhere else very soon I think.

it surprised me that he quit too…….but he does just lack something to be a top manager…..
