Roy Keane was understandably happy with the team`s performance against Reading.

He also had time to single out Jones for praise after the ex Southampton man made an excellent home debut.

I personally think the another player making his home debut did just as well.

Danny Higginbotham didn`t put a foot wrong and with Nosworthy beside him we look solid. I also think McShane is much better than Halford at right back even if McShane is better at centre back.

Anyway this is what he told safc.com “The players stayed focused and it was a nice way to finish the day off.”

“It was a good home debut for Kewyne. I thought he did well a couple of week ago, it was tough for him being on his own upfront, today he gave us something different.”

“He worked well with Chops, it was a very good debut Kenwyne is still a young lad and we`re not expecting miracles but its nice that he`s off the mark.”

“I look at all the players and thought they gave their lot today, that`s all I ever ask, it`s pleasing.”

“The performances at Luton and wigan were nowhere near what we hoped for, but against Birmingham, Tottenham, Liverpool and United, I didn`t think it was that bad”

“The performance was important today, the players showed that confidence and belief.”
